fuelcellmaterials.com offers Sr-doped lanthanum manganite (LSM) in both standard and custom formulations. We also offer a line of perovskite electrode materials based on Strontium- and Cobalt- doped lanthanum ferrite (LSCF), which offer improved low-temperature performance for SOFCs. Composite cathodes are used to extend the three-phase boundary region of the electrode/electrolyte interface and enhance oxygen reduction on the cathode. This improved activity reduces overall electrode and cell resistance.
The composite cathodes offered by fuelcellmaterials.com are designed for a range of processing approaches, including screen printing, painting, aerosol deposition and tape-casting. These materials are readily dispersible in ink vehicles or slurries using standard ceramic processing methods.
In addition to standard materials listed here, fuelcellmaterials.com offers our customization services for electrode design and production. We can tailor inks & powders to the physical specifications your process requires. Please visit our Custom Materials Request Page to submit a request or join other requests for already approved custom materials. Once we receive enough requests to make a batch, the gauge on the page will reflect this and we will begin filling orders.
When creating a complete cathode electrode you need a composite cathode for the reduction of O2 at the triple phase boundary and you need a cathode (like LSM) to act as a current collector. Utilizing these two types of cathode materials will provide you with lower ASR values.
