We are excited to announce that Nexceris has been awarded $1.1 million by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as part of the DOE’s focus on powering the clean energy revolution amongst American small businesses and entrepreneurs. Each of the 110 awarded projects will focus on tackling the climate crisis by harnessing market-oriented solutions and emerging technologies. Nexceris’ project aims to advance the commercial adoption of electric vehicles by developing new materials innovations to enhance battery performance.
This project will continue Nexceris’ partnership with leading researchers at The Ohio State University’s College of Engineering. Project Lead, Dr. Neil Kidner says, “Nexceris is very excited to continue our close collaboration with the team at Ohio State to advance the product readiness of their research and provide solutions to improve the performance of electric vehicles.”
Through DOE’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program, the Phase II awards support the research and development of innovative clean energy technologies toward commercialization. DOE Phase II awards are given for a two-year project period, with initial funding up to $1.1 million, and two potential follow-on awards of up to $1.1 million each.
